September 21 Team mentor training event held from 3:30- 5:00pm at CVTC, Menomonie
September 21-25 Junior and senior ranking high school and freshman standing college students are introduced to The Apprentice: Dunn County and application materials are distributed. Students are asked to complete an application and rate their interest per the list of business projects.
October 23 Deadline for student applications.
Planning committee gathers to review applications, select student team members and assign business projects to teams.
November 16-20 Students and businesses are notified of application status.
December 3 Participating students, business representatives, team mentors and planning partners attend “Leadership Journey” team kick-off event held 6:30-8:00pm at CVTC, Menomonie. Student and mentor team members are introduced to one another. Teams are matched with employers, and the process, expectations and timeline for project development is explained. Teams conduct needs assessment with their business project representative.
January - April Teams work on building their project plans.
April 29 Students, their families, team mentors and business representatives attend “Team Showcase” dinner event held from 6-9:00pm at Stout Ale House. Student teams present their projects proposals to the businesses and audience. Businesses “hire” the winning team idea. Awards are presented to the top three teams.
